What it is
Rebel Kingdom was a door game where every caller ruled a kingdom: harvest grain, feed your subjects, buy land and mills, hire soldiers and knights, visit town for the bank, the casino and the market master, then take your army into battle against the other warlords. Five turns a day, with the REBELS waiting to storm your castle in between. The first ruler to reach the winning requirements takes the crown.
What is new for 2026
A door like this only works when the kingdom is busy, and few boards have a dozen daily callers any more. Rebel Kingdom 26 adds computer-run warlords so there is always someone to attack:
- Up to 24 NPC rulers with their own names, marked
[NPC]on the warlord list. - They play like callers: once a human has begun the day, each NPC logs on at a random time and takes all of its turns in one sitting, so its news reads like anyone else's.
- Three difficulty levels, and a switch for whether NPCs may attack human kingdoms.
- A sysop menu for settings, NPC names and player editing, and a built-in sysop guide.
- Runs as a native 64-bit door on Windows and Linux (Mystic, Synchronet, or any DOOR32.SYS or BBSDEV.DRP board) with no DOS emulation.
- MS-DOS Version included!
